The Opportunity Board

The Opportunity Board is an interactive newsfeed that serves as a virtual volunteering bulletin board. Non-profits use the Board to post volunteering opportunities that are then visible to prospective volunteers. The postings contain key information about the opportunity (length of the event, time, place, requirements), a description about the tasks that needs to be done and communication access to the coordinator responsible.

When our member organizations post an event to the Board, the event becomes visible to volunteers who are subscribed to Vome. Not only do the volunteers have access to all of the opportunities posted in their respective city, but they can filter postings by time (availability?) and interests so that they can give back to the organization with the posting that suits them best. Once the volunteer has found the appropriate opportunity, he or she can confirm their attendance and reserve their spot at the event directly through Vome.
