Our vision
Vome was built on the idea that to make community work meaningful and sustainable, there needed to be a more seamless approach when connecting volunteers with organizations. The first thought was to build a system capable of ushering volunteering into the 21st century. With our Opportunity Board, we believe we have created a mechanism that satisfies that goal. But as development progressed, and new ideas came to the surface, we began putting more focus on this concept we called “The Vome Community”.
In a short period of time, our mission grew much larger than just creating a functional online system. We decided we wanted to build an entire community based on benevolence. Our idea was that by connecting many different entities and people through our system, the very nature of community service would change. It would become easier for people to give back in a genuine way thanks to the way that they searched for opportunities. Organizations would be able to build strong and dependable relationships with individuals who actually care for their cause. And most importantly, it would get more and more people helping out.
Although we have not been operating for too long, we are well on our way to building our Vome community. We have seen people, who are not usually accustomed to volunteering, take time out of their busy schedules to help out at a fundraiser or wake up early on a Sunday morning to go serve food to people in need. And trust us, we’re only getting started - the community is growing each and every day.
It is important to us that all of our users - be it schools, students, organizations, or regular people -- understand our vision. In fact, the only way we can achieve our vision is if all of our users care about their communities just as much as we care about our Vome Community.
